The New Mexico Primary Care Association has been involved with the coordination and delivery of Health Information Technology Services for more
than 15 years. The Chief Information Officer, six IT professionals, and an informatics expert provide a variety of HIT services to members as well
as other FQHCs and nonprofit health care entities.
NMPCA provides Electronic Medical Records hosting services for 5 FQHCs in New Mexico and 3 in Utah and also provides full CIO services and network administration to 1 member FQHC. It operates and supports a data warehouse platform which generates clinical quality and practice management data reports for 11 of the 17 New Mexico FQHCs. NMPCA houses and supports the New Mexico Nurse Advice statewide call center, which is available 24/7 to New Mexico’s uninsured residents and provides after hours call coverage for many health centers.
NMPCA operates a HRSA-funded Health Center Controlled Network composed of 12 New Mexico and 3 Utah Health Centers. Doing business as New Mexico Health Choice Network, NMHCN assists members to generate and use data and analytics to achieve meaningful use, pursue Healthy People 2000 clinical quality goals, and support patient centered medical home implementation and certification efforts. Additionally, NMHCN has trainers on staff, certified by eClinicalWorks in both Practice Management and Electronic Medical Records. They are available to provide training and super-user services to 11 health center members utilizing that software.
Wide Area Network Services
NMPCA provides installation and support for a Wide Area Network connecting 6 organizations and 36 sites. The network provides low cost WAN bandwidth, monitoring and ongoing troubleshooting, and configuration support for the WAN circuits and WAN equipment.
